SCMS AND ORBAN FEATURE THE NEW OPTIMOD-TV 8685 FOR THE SCREENING OF THE MOVIE "THE WRECKING CREW" AT NAB 2011
Scottsdale, AZ March 10th, 2011 — Orban, a worldwide leader in audio processing for radio, TV, and Internet broadcasting has partnered with leading Orban Authorized Dealer SCMS to present the screening of the movie "The Wrecking Crew" at the National Association of Broadcasters 2011 National Convention in Las Vegas. The screening will be held at NAB's "Content Theatre" Wednesday April 13th from 6pm-8pm and will feature Q & A with Director Denny Tedesco and Orban Engineering VP's Robert Orban and Greg Ogonowski. The audio presentation of this music-intensive film will be processed with the new Orban Optimod-TV 8685 5.1 and 7.1 Surround Sound processor with HD-SDI connectivity, available through SCMS locations across the US. The 8685 is Orban's featured new product at NAB 2011. 
The Wrecking Crew were a group of studio musicians in Los Angeles in the '60s who played on hits for the Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra, Sonny and Cher, Jan & Dean, The Monkees, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, Mamas and Papas, Tijuana Brass, Ricky Nelson, Johnny Rivers, and were Phil Spector's Wall of Sound. The amount of work that they were involved in was tremendous.
The record industry was primarily in New York, London, and Detroit in the late 50's and early 60s. There was a surge towards the mid-60's that pushed the recording to the US West Coast. The musicians were recording around the clock for over 8 years. This group included Glen Campbell and Tommy Tedesco, father of Director Denny Tedesco.
